During the Great War the town of Burnley (and its districts) suffered a disproportionate amount of casualties compared to many other towns and cities in Great Britain. The site aims to honour the men from Burnley who served in this terrible conflict and also to show the effect of the war on the town. It is also hoped to link to the research published by other members of the East Lancashire Medal and Militaria Society and also to use the site as a gateway to the Burnley Roll of Honour database compiled by Andrew Gill, Alan Mackay and Denis Otter.
